POLAROID EMULSION LIFT
Description
Another experimental photographic technique is the Polaroid emulsion lift, which means transferring the photo emulsion from a Polaroid photo to another carrier. In other words, it is an analog manipulation of an instant photograph, during which the image is transferred to another base, for example, paper, glass, plastic, or wood.
This technique is only possible with black and white material.
The first step at the workshop is to take your Polaroid pictures. They will develop within 15 minutes. Immediately after developing, we start disassembling the Polaroid photo then we get rid of the white plastic frame until we get to the photo emulsion, which we manually transfer to another carrier. The key is to be patient because photo emulsion is fragile.
This way, we can transfer several photos and create a unique composition, for example, multiexposure. As a result, you will receive original, hand-made prints.
