POLAROID LIGHT PAINTING

Description

The Polaroid Light Painting workshop offers the opportunity to discover the technique of drawing with a light on instant material.

During a long exposure, when the aperture is open for several seconds to minutes, we will draw different patterns in front of the camera with the help of a light source (smartphone) and by moving our hands. We can make intentional signs or shapes. We are free to form from random movements to deliberate ones. Or we can use color combinations. Or for example, we can light our faces in several positions. The negative captures all of this, and when we finish the process by closing the aperture, the instant photograph will eject from the camera. After developing the photography, we will see the record of the drawing of all or only the longest moves.

It is possible to work with a wide range of colored light, mix individual colors in one photo, or with pure white light. As a result, we create unique abstract Polaroid photos, which we will draw with the movement of our hands and body. We can work with black and white or color instant material.
