On photography

This project deals with the current state of photography and asks what photography is and what is photography today – thus On Photography. It analyzes the relationship between photography and its resulting images on the basis of selected concepts that have been associated with photography since its invention, such as truth and memory. It also brings an analysis of new concepts such as non-photography, on the basis of which photography appears to be an inexhaustible medium. In addition, thanks to the photograph of the black hole, photography also presents its new technical background, which confirms its inexhaustibility. The chapter Photography and the Act of Photography discusses the shift in the perception of pressing the shutter as an affirmation of the presence, when today it is no longer the content of photography but performance - the act of pressing the shutter.

The work presents a re-reflection on the moment of pressing the shutter and the value of the whole process as well as the value of the resulting image. The aim is to contribute to the discussion of the current state of photography.
